The City of La Puente will be hosting its 19th Annual Main Street Halloween Run on Sunday, October 24. Registration begins at 6:00 a.m. The races are going to be held on a challenging course that starts out with an uphill stretch at the beginning of the race. The course begins and ends at La Puente City Hall, located at 15900 East Main Street. A cash prize of $150 will be awarded to the fastest male and female in each of the 5K and 10K runs. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in each of the age categories for the 5K and 10K races. There will also be a 5K walk and a Youth Fun Run for children 7 years and under. Both races will not be timed. Every person completing the event will also receive a special recognition medal. Those who wish to participate can register the day of the race, at City Hall, by mail, or online through the City’s website, www.lapuente.org. The registration fees for the 5K and 10K run are $20 if received by Friday, October 15. For 5K walkers the fee is $15 and for the Youth Fun Run the registration fee is $10. If registration is received after Friday, October 15, a $10 dollar late fee will be applied. The entry fee includes a commemorative race t-shirt, goodie bag, and the finisher medal.
