City Manager Carmany reports La Puente's 4th Quater 2017 sales tax receipts up slightly

La Puente’s Sales Tax Update for Fourth Quarter 2017
City Manager David Carmany announced today that the City’s sales tax receipts for the period of October through December 2017, were up 2.9%. During the fourth quarter period for 2017, receipts for all of Los Angeles County and the Southern California region were up 2.7 %.
The growth is still solid and does not yet point to a slowdown. The City experienced solid results from multiple local eateries as interest in dining out continues to grow, especially at quick-service restaurants. Strong sales of used cars helped boost auto-transportation returns.
Steady price increases at the pump, mostly due to the global cost of crude and the implementation of SB-1, statewide legislation that increased excise tax on fuel, pushed service stations higher.
